Handout Collective Decision Making Protocol

  1. Brainstorm the list individually, in the following three types of implementation data (These three types should also be on a whiteboard or flipchart paper, heading three separate columns):
    1. student outcome questions,
    2. teacher implementation fidelity questions, and
    3. system capacity and programmatic support questions.

Make sure people list as many questions as they can. (10 minutes)

  1. Discuss list in triads, three minutes per person, talking through the questions people generated during the brainstorm. (10 minutes)
  2. Individuals put one choice from each category on flipchart paper. People can write something from their own lists or put up something that was discussed in their triad.
  3. Once this is completed, individuals put a dot next to the two choices that most interest them in each category. (10 minutes)
