The connections between academic standards and benchmarks, instructional practices, and curriculum cannot be overemphasized. It is critical that curriculum materials support the standards and benchmarks, but perhaps even more important is that the curriculum materials support teachers' use of effective instructional practices. This section provides guidance and resources to support planning for and evaluation of supports provided for teachers as well as for planning and assessment of student learning.
