Selected Practice: name the practice here _________________________________________________________________________
Overview: Practice Profiles identify the core components of a practice, and describe the key instructional moves that are associated with each core component. Clearly defined components and practices are a prerequisite for sound implementation. Operationalizing expected practices is an ongoing process. This tool can be used to plan, observe, and reflect on actions and dispositions as they develop systemically. Over time, it is expected that all components be fully implemented and sustained.
Here are definitions of the use in practice
· Expected “teacher moves”: activities that exemplify educators who are able to generalize required skills and abilities to a wide range of settings and contexts; use these skills consistently and independently; and sustain these skills over time while continuing to grow and improve in their position.
· Developing “teacher moves”: activities that exemplify educators who are developing the required skills and abilities, but are still working to refine and deepen for greater student outcomes. This may mean that the educator uses these skills inconsistently or need supervisor/coach consultation to complete or successfully apply skills; and would benefit from a coaching agenda that targets particular skills for improvement in order to move into the “expected” category. This column helps to determine next steps for coaching and other supports.
· “Teacher moves” to discontinue: activities that are not supported or proven to be effective, and should be discontinued.
